Now on display in the Gallery at Green Library, through September 2014, are items from The Kampong of the National Tropical Botanical Garden, the residence of David Fairchild.
Included are photographs of Fairchild in his study, his typewriter, desk fan, stationery, many plant specimens and labels, and other ephemera.
David Fairchild (1869-1954), an American botanist, was responsible for the introduction of over 200,000 exotic plants into the United States and he is the author of four books, describing his world travels and his work.
Join us for this unique opportunity to travel back in time alongside one of Miami's early pioneers and one of America's most influential horticulturalists and plant collectors.
